Gas can be a lethal and dangerous gas. There are many things that can cause gas problems within your homes such as gas leakages, improper combustion and many other things. Make sure you remain safe in your home and you should always try and be as vigilante as you can when it comes to gas. Here are a few tips to help you stay safe in your home:

–          Make sure all your gas appliances are checked at least annually. These are things such as your boiler, cooker or gas fire.

–          Always make sure that you are using a Gas Safe registered engineer to carry out any of your gas jobs. This is law and only Gas Safe registered engineers are fully qualified to keep your gas appliances safe. To check you can visit the Gas Safe Register website and check your engineer’s Gas Safe number.

–          Make sure you are familiar with the symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning. These are headaches, dizziness, nausea, breathlessness, collapse and loss of consciousness.

–          Look out for signs that your gas appliances are not working properly. If you see yellow flames instead of blue ones, black marks, stains on or around the appliance or too much condensation, this can be a sign. If you notice any of these call the Gas Safe helpline on 0800 408 5500.

–          You can also purchase a carbon monoxide alarm for your home which you can make sure is close to your gas appliances. These are not expensive at all and at Gas Cookers Installation we sell them for only £22.50 excluding VAT.

–          Do not use a gas barbeque inside the house or within a closed environment. This is lethal!

–          Always ensure there is enough ventilation around your gas appliances.

–          Make sure you report ANYONE who is working with gas appliances and is not Gas Safe registered. This is illegal and this can put many lives at risk. Report them to Gas Safe on 0800 408 5500.

Make sure you stay safe within your home and use the tips listed to look out for any dangers.

I had a free standing cooker installation and I was more than willing to write a review. The engineer was funny and very bubbly. If all your engineers are like this, you have an admirable team of engineers! Thanks a lot.
